That is not what happened at all. John Rosatti’s girlfriend donated to PETA and told John to stop using the trunk monkeys. The next day he called the company he used for advertising and broke his contract. PETA got the dealerships name after his girlfriend used it as a contact when she donated.
Several days later, PETA used this information against John Rosatti, to gain media attention. If PETA would have handled the situation differently they would’ve made a bigger difference in this fight to save monkeys, apes and orangutans. PETA chose to act first without thinking. What a shame because the organization could have had several dealerships against it

i was visiting auto dealers in eastern pa last week, and none of them could add the trunk monkey as one of the car features!
then i remembered, maybe they never saw the car tv ads out here and i saw them at home in pgh!
